Day 3 – First Friday of Lent
Today being the first Friday in Lent, we check on our Lenten
sacrifices. How are we doing? Is it hard
to be kind when we want to be angry? Is
it hard to not complain about doing our chores?
Yet through these little sacrifices of love, these little sufferings,
Jesus’ life in us is growing! And St.
Therese reminds us that in heaven all will be joyful! But for now we can imagine ourselves as Jesus’
little ball. Sometimes we will feel His
presence and sometimes we will feel left in the corner or worse pricked! Yet, Jesus knows what is best for us and we
humbly submit to His wondrous love.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Lord
Jesus, make our hearts like unto yours.
“How I thirst for Heaven-that blessed habitation where our love for
Jesus will have no limit! But to get there we must suffer... we must weep...
Well, I wish to suffer all that shall please my Beloved, I wish to let Him do
just as He wills with His "little ball."” – V Letter to Sr. Marie of the Sacred Heart
Lord Jesus, please help us to persevere in our acts of love and acts of
sacrifice. Help us say kind words when
we want to say the angry ones that first come to mind. Please accept us as your little ball. Help us to see others as you see them; so we
may see who needs an extra act of love today.
Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory Be …
Today’s Little Flower activity: Do
your chores without complaining. Not even
one little eyeroll! (Color in a flower for
Jesus when it is completed!)
