Day 24 – Tuesday, March 28
It only takes the faith of a mustard seed to move a mountain. That doesn’t seem like much! St. Thérèse tells us today this is exactly the little faith that her little way to holiness nurtures. So let us keep pressing onward, for just being little – as a child – is all we need to be!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Thank you, dear Jesus, for loving us so much! Thank you for helping us stay as little children before your throne. You are good and wonderful and always provide for us. Teach us how to help our faith grow.
St. Thérèse teaches us:
“He whose Heart ever watches, taught me, that while for a soul whose faith equals but a tiny grain of mustard seed, He works miracles, in order that this faith which is so weak may be fortified; yet for His intimate friends, for His Mother, He did not work miracles until He had put their faith to test. Did He not let Lazarus die though Martha and Mary had sent to tell Him that he was sick? At the marriage at Cana, the Blessed Virgin having asked Him to come to the assistance of the master of the house, did He not reply that His hour was not yet come? But after the trial, what a recompense! Water changed to wine, Lazarus restored to life...” – Story of A Soul, Chapter VI
Lord Jesus, please help us to not be disheartened that we are little. Being little can feel like nothing, but this little nothing pulls on your heartstrings more than so many grandeurs! Help us to love our friends and our family a little more today. We love you, Jesus.
Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory Be …
Merciful Father, in the name of Your sweet Jesus, of the Blessed Virgin and of the Saints, I pray that I be fired with Your spirit of love, and that You will grant me the grace to make You greatly loved. (The daily prayer that St. Thérèse taught us to say, adapted for our little lives.)
St. Thérèse, pray for us!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Today’s Little Flower activity: Call another relative or friend to say hello, maybe someone who especially would love some cheering up! (Color in a flower for Jesus when your mom or dad has seen that it is completed!)
