Already in our home there is a little healthy competition going on. :-) One child before leaving for school yesterday made his little brothers' beds to earn an extra flower! I am happy to let them earn extra flowers, as long as it is done with the right spirit of giving.
Day 2 – Thursday, March 2
Today we ask St. Thérèse, “How can I as a child, give alms during Lent?” She says your simple acts of love are your alms and these alms are given right to Jesus!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Lord
Jesus, make our hearts like unto yours.
“Jesus wills that we give alms to Him as to one poor and needy. He puts
Himself as it were at our mercy; He will take nothing but what we give Him from
our heart, and the very least trifle is precious in His sight. He stretches
forth His Hand, this sweet Saviour, to receive of us a little love.” – XV Letter to Her Sister Celine
Lord Jesus, we love you! Please,
help us to remember that when we act in love, we are giving alms to you. You gave everything for us. You died for us. You love us endlessly. Help us to give our hearts completely to you.
Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory Be …
Today’s Little Flower activity: Write
a letter to someone you know who might be lonely and need to be cheered up. Get your mom or dad to help you address it,
stamp it and mail it. How you will bless
that person’s day! (Color in a flower for
Jesus when you have completed it!)
