We've been praying for you all! What great gardens of little flowers we are building! Can you believe the 3rd Sunday of Lent is here already? How has your journey been going? If you send us a photo of your gardens or a story about how it is going, we will be happy to include it on a future post! :-) The boys would love to see it!
If you don't have my email, you can message us through Facebook - link to the right.
Day 16 – Saturday, March 18 & weekend message, 3rd Sunday of Lent!
Day 16 – Saturday, March 18 & weekend message, 3rd Sunday of Lent!
At Mass this weekend, we will hear about the Israelites grumbling in
the desert. Even though they had been
slaves, they questioned why they left Egypt. They forgot God's acts of love for them! Moses asked God to help him so the people
would calm down and God told Moses “Strike the rock, and the water will flow
from it for the people to drink.” God
always takes care of us! (Even when we've been grumbling!) In the Gospel,
Jesus is sitting at a well at noon, and a woman approaches the well to gather
her water. Jesus sees her and it is an
encounter of love. He reveals that he
knows all about her life and says that He has a special water to give her. He says, “Jesus answered and said to her, "Everyone
who drinks this water will be thirsty again; but whoever drinks the water I
shall give will never thirst; the water I shall give will become in him a
spring of water welling up to eternal life."” How wonderful is our God!
In
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lord Jesus, thank you for always taking care
of us. Please help us to remember the
good things you have done for us. Help
us to remember your faithfulness especially when we are worried about things
that might happen in our future. Thank
you for your living water and for your gift of yourself in Holy Communion at
Mass. Lord, we believe; help our
unbelief!
St. Thérèse teaches
us a daily prayer to say:
“This
little prayer which includes all my desires I ask you to say for me each day:
“Merciful
Father, in the name of Your sweet Jesus, of the Blessed Virgin and of the
Saints, I pray to You that my sister be fired with Your spirit of love, and
that You will grant her the grace to make You greatly loved.”
“If
God should take me soon to Himself, I ask you to continue each day this same
prayer, for in Heaven my desire will be the same as upon earth; to love Jesus
and to make Him loved.” – III Letter to her Missionary "Brothers"
Lord
Jesus, when we hear your voice, help us to not harden our hearts but to listen
openly and do your will with much delight!
Let us remember to come to You to find our fulfilment – You are the only
One who can meet all our needs and quench the thirstiness of our hearts!
Our
Father …
Hail
Mary …
Glory
Be …
Merciful
Father, in the name of Your sweet Jesus, of the Blessed Virgin and of the
Saints, I pray that I be fired with Your spirit of love, and that You will
grant me the grace to make You greatly loved.*
St.
Thérèse, pray for us!
In
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Today’s Little Flower activity: Draw
a picture of Jesus speaking to the woman at the well. Give the picture to your mom or dad to hang
up and talk about the Gospel story.
(Color in a flower for Jesus when your mom or dad has seen that it is
completed!)
*The daily prayer that St. Thérèse taught us to say, adapted for our little lives. We'll include it in our daily prayers now! :-D
